Opening Weekend!

What a great weekend for golf!!  Everyone said they had a great time.  Congratulations to John, Dave, and Rick.  Here are some remembrances from the day.

OPENING DAY!
FRIDAY the 13th @ 12:00 PM (to let Ed do the greens in the morning.)
Scramble @ 12:30 on Sunday before the meeting.

Course Opening???

OK, OK...I understand. It is my inside information that the course will open next weekend...probably Friday. BUT....I don't know for sure. I will put it up here when I hear about it. Trust me!!

GOLF!!

I saw Ed today and he said that the course WOULD BE OPEN before the spring meeting!! I asked if I could start that rumor and he said that if it didn't start raining tomorrow and last for a week, even Friday was a possibility. That's great news!! How about a best ball tourney at 1:00 PM?? Maybe Les can run with that thought. Are you out there Les?? I'll give you a call to start this going soon.
Anyway, the course looked great and Ed was very positive. See you all there.

SPRING MEETING

Two weeks until the annual spring meeting. Could it really be that we could be playing golf by then? Les called to tell me Searsport Pines was open (back when it was 80 degrees here, but I'm still nursing a bad left hand, so haven't given it a try this year. I hope you are all in good shape and am looking forward to seeing everyone at the meeting. Got your new member quota yet?

SPRING!!

Sure sign of spring...there was a board meeting this afternoon!! It looks as though we'll have an early opening! There are new members already knocking at our door! The price has gone up at all the other local golf courses...and we have remained the same! The course has a number of improvements that are already underway! The news could not be better.
It's time to start the real effort to bring in new members. The referral coupon incentive remains this year...you get 4 coupons for a free round for friends for every new member you get. All we need is a few and we'll be back to the waiting list!! (And we'll be braking even on the year...most important.). Get the energy moving, get your own memberships renewed...and we'll be seeing all of you soon!!
By the way, I was saddened to hear of the passing of old friend Bar Lord today. He was a gem.

New Season!

Clearly, it's time to start thinking about the new season! The grass is quite visable, and we've had time to get over Phil's downfall this past weekend. Word is that there are several new request for membership that have come in. Let's get going with early season suggestions to friends and neighbors who want to play on a gem of a course like ours! David is working hard on the web page and it's looking good. In time, it should be easier to read and attractive to interested strangers. I do look forward to seeing all the old faces that I've enjoyed playing with in these past years...and Chris too! Let's make an all out effort to fill the membership this year...all prices (including gas!) are up...EXCEPT OURS!!!

Thought you might like to know that some of us NEVER stop thinking about golf! Here's to the beginning of the season...and I'm not thinking about whether Tiger is going to make a come-back, I'm wondering if Chris will have a decent handicap!
